I continue my eat to live journey and have discovered more plant based options at restaurants. The impossible vegan burger is very good and tasty. This week I did much better eating plant-based, even when presented with having to eat out. It’s getting easier and I’m finding more options at even “meat” focused restaurants. Sometimes it means getting creative and just ordering sides a la carte. Whatever works!

One day we were at Spring Creek BBQ (not my choice…), but I just ordered the vegetable sides. While a decent choice, I’m pretty sure most of those sides had either oil, butter, or animal products added as flavoring. But, better than eating a slab of meat….

Then on my husband’s birthday, he wanted to go to Dave & Buster’s to eat and play games, and I figured I’d just order a salad. Well, when I was looking through the menu, I discovered they served the vegan Impossible Burger and you could sub any burger patty for it! Awesome! Even my kids got kid’s menus burgers with the Impossible Burger Patty. So cool to see more vegan choices showing up at mainstream restaurants. I got a side of steamed veggies instead of fries as well.

My weight loss on the nutritarian diet this week:

  • Starting weight this week – 147.8 lbs
  • Ending weight this week – 147.4 lbs
  • Weight loss this week – 0.4 lbs
  • Total weight loss so far – 16.6 lbs

While I feel like I did much better this week than last week, I lost about the same weight – 0.4 pounds compared to last week 0.3 pounds. I think as I’m getting closer to my goal weight I’m going to have to be more strict about what I’m eating. Especially when it comes to added oils – especially “hidden” oils in restaurant food. Just because something is vegan, doesn’t mean that it is high nutrient density! I have to remind myself of that constantly when eating out.
